Roma fans turned up at the club’s training ground yesterday with banners urging Daniele De Rossi to remain at the Serie A giants.

De Rossi is a summer transfer target for both Manchester United and Real Madrid, but according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Roma faithful are doing all they can to persuade the midfielder to remain at the Stadio Olimpico.

Their task looks a tough one however. With Roma set to miss out on Champions League football for next season due a league campaign of underachievement, keeping hold of De Rossi in the face of interest from two of the world’s biggest clubs will not be easy for the Giallorossi.

Roma though are set to benefit from the investment of new owner Thomas DiBenedetto and if the 27-year-old can be persuaded that Champions League football and Serie A title challenges are not far off, then there remains a chance United and Real Madrid could yet be snubbed.
