Manuel Neuer is expected to end up at Bayern Munich in the summer after telling Schalke that he wishes to quit the club. With the 24-year-old goalkeeper wanting to remain within Germany, a move to the Allianz Arena is edging closer and it is a fact Bayern President Uli Hoeness has admitted.
"We have high hopes", said Hoeness when asked about the impending arrival of Neuer from the Ruhr club. "It would be nice to have him with us in the summer.
"We will have to find a solution that will satisfy all parties."
For Bayern, signing Neuer is an important move given that the club have failed to adequately replace the legendary Oliver Kahn since he hung up his boots. And for Neuer, a switch to Bayern ensures he will give himself the best possible chance of winning the Bundesliga.
