Juventus are thought to be negotiating to bring Andrea Pirlo to the club when his contract expires with AC Milan this summer, a move which would instantly reduce their need to conclude a deal with Liverpool for Alberto Aquilani.

The Bianconeri are on the lookout for a top notch midfielder and have spoken to Liverpool about making Alberto Aquilani’s loan deal permanent. However, the €16M the Premier League side want for the former Roma man is considered too high in Turin and alternative plans are being made.

Luigi Delneri’s side have endured a disappointing season in Serie A and are looking to revamp their squad. Indeed, Delneri himself has his head on the chopping block.

A deal for Pirlo would not only serve to solve Juventus’ midfield dilemma, but also come as a blow to their bitter rivals the Rossoneri and boost the morale of the Old Lady faithful.

At 31 years old Pirlo is considered to have a number of seasons in Italy’s top flight ahead of him and a move to Juventus could well appeal to the midfielder. And with no transfer fee needed, Juventus are in a position to make a lucrative contact offer to the player.
