Two Premier League sides have joined the race for Toulouse’s left sided midfielder Franck Tabanou – Newcastle United and West Ham United.
The 22-year-old looks set to be hot property this summer and can count a whole host of clubs amongst his admirers. From Italy, AC Milan and Inter have pondered a move, while Juventus too rate the Frenchman highly. And from Germany, giants Bayern Munich have been linked with a bid, while newly crowned champions Borussia Dortmund are also thought to be watching the situation.
However, should Tabanou prefer a switch to England then Newcastle and West Ham would prove interesting options, although the London club’s move will be determined by whether or not they can successfully fight relegation, at present a scenario which looks unlikely.
Tabanou, who can operate all the way down the left flank, is considered one of the most promising talents in the French game, having broken through into the Toulouse first team in 2009 and gone on to clock up well over 50 starts for the Ligue 1 side.
At international level Tabanou has featured for France’s Under-21s and could have been expected to travel with the squad to the European Championships in Denmark this summer if the country had qualified.
