Freiburg general manager Dirk Dufner has confirmed that the Bundesliga side have yet to receive an offer they regard as suitable for striker Papiss Cisse.
The Senegal hitman is expected to be in demand this summer after a superb season of goalscoring in the German top flight, and Freiburg recently rejected a bid of €15M from English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers.
The Bundesliga club are expected to hold out for a higher fee and also believe Cisse wants to join one of Europe’s top sides, rather than a comparable outfit like Rovers.
"Cisse’s idea is top join a great club to pursue his career in the best way", explained Dufner to Bild, "but so far no one has made an offer that satisfies us."
And the Freiburg general manager confirmed that the German side would not hang around to wait for offers – either a suitable bid arrives or the striker will be taken off the market because there would not be time to adequately replace him.
"If it does not arrive [an acceptable offer], or comes so late that we cannot buy a suitable replacement, then Cisse will stay with us."
