Malaga striker Jose Salomon Rondon has been advised to stay with the La Liga outfit for next season by his agent. The Venezuelan striker has most recently been a target for English Premier League club Newcastle United, who are seeking to replace Andy Carroll, the forward sold to Liverpool in the January transfer window.
For other clubs to be tracking exciting young talent Rondon is no surprise to the player’s agent Juan Mata, but he does not believe that now is the right time for the 21-year-old to pack his bags and leave Malaga.
"We are making for a call from the club to make it right", said Mata to La Opinion de Malaga, "there should be no problem for him to reconfirm [his intent to stay].
"We had a lot of teams interested, but it is vital that he stays in Malaga to mature more."
Next season promises to be an exciting one for the Spanish side. Owned by Middle Eastern Sheikh Al-Thani and managed by former Real Madrid boss Manuel Pellegrini, there promises to be a series of new arrivals at the club as they look to push up La Liga and into a European spot.
