English Premier League clubs are queuing up for the services of Inter midfielder McDonald Mariga after it was revealed that the Kenyan is ready to call time on his 18-month spell at the Nerazzurri.
Mariga moved from Parma in January of last year, but despite being expected to make an impact and bring tireless energy to Inter’s midfield, he has consistently been overlooked. And the player, according to his agent Federico Pastorello, wants first team football next season.
Leading the chase for Mariga are long-time admirers Aston Villa, Steve Bruce’s Sunderland and Harry Redknapp’s Tottenham Hotspur. Of the three, Spurs would appear to have the edge, as it is they who can offer the 24-year-old European football next season, although if Mariga believes he would receive more regular first team football elsewhere, there is a chance he could snub a switch to White Hart Lane.
"I think Mariga deserved more space [on the pitch] in his second year at Inter", said Pastorello.
"At this point, he is likely going to play elsewhere, perhaps overseas."
Inter will be delighted that three Premier League sides are tracking Mariga as it will increase the chance of realising a tidy fee for the Kenyan.
