Manchester United star Patrice Evra expects the English champions to come back stronger from their Champions League final defeat to Barcelona.
The Red Devils were well beaten at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night, meaning that they were unable to add the Champions League to the Premier League trophy they had won two weeks earlier. For Evra, that made a potentially great season into only a good one, but he took consolation in winning the league.
"The consolation is that Manchester United had a good season", explained the Frenchman..
"Not a great season, because we didn’t win on Saturday night, but a good season. It was not easy, but we played with the Manchester United spirit a lot. We deserved better, but we played against the best side in the world and it was difficult."
And for Evra, the future is clear, with the player confident that United will bounce back because they are a strong side with a never-say-die attitude.
"I know what I have to do. Go on holiday, have a rest and come back, because Manchester Untied never die.
"We always want to be the best team in the world, but for the moment we have to accept that for the last three years Barcelona have been the best team in the world and United are second."
