AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has ruled out leaving the Rossoneri this summer, explaining he has turned down a lucrative offer to remain.

That offer is thought to have come from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, a club that have been chasing Gattuso for six months and remain keen to add him to a squad which includes Brazilian talents Roberto Carlos and Diego Tardelli.

However, for Gattuso, his future remains black and red.

"I have evaluated the offer that I received, it was very important", explained the veteran midfielder, "but for me the main thing is remaining at home with my family.

"And Milan, after 12 years it’s my home."

Gattuso also refused to be drawn on the new mystery midfielder the Rossoneri are expected to sign, saying he cannot guess it himself.

"Every day I try to guess, at the beginning I thought that it was [Marek] Hamsik, but I now understand that he won’t come."
