Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan could be on the move this summer, barely six months after landing at Schalke.

The 24-year-old joined the Ruhr giants in January, moving from Norwegian powerhouses Rosenborg. Often compared to countryman Michael Essien for his all-action tough-tackling style of play, the Ghana star was sought-after and Schalke’s winning of the race was at the time a coup.

But now Annan could be sold at the right price and is attracting interest from Russia.

That interest comes from Spartak Moscow, with the Russian Premier League side believing a midfielder enforcer in Annan’s mould could be just what the doctor ordered to boost their season.

Whether Annan will be open to leaving Schalke so soon after arriving is open to question, but Spartak could make the Bundesliga side an offer they find difficult to refuse.
