Serie A side Fiorentina have emerged as contenders for the signature of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Niko Kranjcar.

The Croatian is available from White Hart Lane for the right price and has already indicated a willingness to leave Harry Redknapp’s side in search of more regular first team football.

Kranjcar’s asking price at the start of the summer was around €12M, however Fiorentina believe there has been a softening of that position following criticism from the player over the amount needed for his signature, and bid of around €7M may well be enough to take the Croatian to Italy.

La Viola are well aware though that meeting Kranjcar’s wage demands could prove a problem.

The Croat takes home €2M per year at White Hart Lane, an amount that Fiorentina would be reluctant to match. First team football though could persuade Kranjcar to settle for less.
