Paris Saint-Germain are thought to be ready to complete a move for Lazio striker Mauro Zarate.

The French club have money to spend this summer after serious investment from the sovereign wealth fund of Qatar, and with former Inter coach Leonardo now appointed to his new position of sporting director, are preparing to push ahead with their plans.

And according to Italian source Sportitalia, PSG are just one step away from snapping up Zarate.

Lazio have already seen two new strikers land in the Italian capital this summer, with Miroslav Klose making the switch from Bayern Munich and Djibril Cisse ending a two-year spell with Galatasaray.

And so, despite Lazio boss Edy Reja being keen for the duo to form an attacking trident with Zarate, monetary considerations mean the 24-year-old could end up at the Parc des Princes.

PSG transfer supremo Leonardo is known to rate Zarate highly and sees him as a good potential addition.
