Villarreal midfielder Borja Valero is attracting attention from Manuel Pellegrini’s Malaga.

Valero has been a standout performer for the Yellow Submarine this season, despite his side’s troubles in La Liga.

The 27-year-old has helped Villarreal to move away from the relegation spots in the Spanish top flight, but the side still face a fight to remain in La Liga.

Regardless of what happens however, there are expected to be sales at El Madrigal in the summer as the Yellow Submarine seek to slash costs.

Malaga, who are chasing a Champions League spot, are thought to have been impressed with the 27-year-old and would be open to bidding for his services at the end of the campaign.

Valero has also been linked with Real Madrid.

The midfielder is under contract with Villarreal until 2015.
