AC Milan have added another name to their list of possible replacements for the departed Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Nicklas Bendtner.
The Rossoneri have seen their hopes of signing Leandro Damiao from Internacional crushed after the Brazilian club insisted that under no circumstances is the 22-year-old for sale.
Milan had held talks with Damiao’s agent last week, but Internacional dismissed that, insisting that they must agree to any deal – and they will not.
That has forced Milan to look again at their options, with Manchester City duo Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tevez likely to prove extremely expensive options.
And so, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri are now actively considering a move for Danish striker Bendtner, who is desperate to leave Arsenal on a permanent basis this summer.
Bendtner spent last season on loan at Sunderland, but remains under contract with Arsene Wenger’s Gunners, who are ready to sell; Arsenal are thought to want around €7M for the 24-year-old.
The striker impressed Milan with his performances at Euro 2012 for Denmark, where he led the line with distinction and even bagged a brave against eventual semi-finalists Portugal.
There is though much interest in Bendtner, meaning Milan are likely to encounter opposition if they choose to push for his signature.
