Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani will not be landing at Fiorentina, his agent Franco Zavaglia has insisted, dubbing the move "financially unfeasible" for La Viola.

Aquilani is back training at the Reds after two consecutive season-long loans back in his homeland of Italy, first with Juventus and then last year at AC Milan.

Neither have resulted in a permanent stay however and the former Roma man is now hoping for a chance to impress at Anfield under new Reds manager Brendan Rodgers.

The midfielder’s name has continued to swirl around Serie A though and Fiorentina are the latest club to have been linked with snapping up the 28-year-old.

But the player’s representative has insisted that Liverpool do not want to loan Aquilani yet again, meaning a permanent transfer is the only show in town – and Fiorentina cannot afford that.

"He is happy at Liverpool", said Zavaglia.

And the player’s agent then quashed talk of a move back to Italy with Fiorentina.

"Let’s not make a soap opera of it", commented Zavaglia in a nod to his client’s turbulent times in previous close seasons.

"Aquilani can only be sold and therefore he is financially unfeasible for Fiorentina."
