Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has admitted that anything can still happen in terms of player transfers before the window shuts next week.
The Europa League winners have been strongly linked with a bid for Brazilian midfielder Diego, who was on loan at the club last season, while speculation continues to swirl around Atletico Madrid strikers Radamel Falcao and Adrian.
There could be movement at the Vicente Calderon before the end of the summer transfer period, though Simeone would hope that if that is the case, it is more on the incoming side than outgoing.
"I do not close the door on anything", said Simeone when asked whether he might expect any last minute additions.
"I am aware of what can happen in the next few days because I have good communication with the club. I know the needs of the squad, first, and the club knows what the team needs also.
"Until the transfer market closes anything can happen. I am used to these late summers with lots of movement and I’m not afraid of it at all."
Simeone will be hopeful of keeping hold of his star performers with the emphasis on adding, rather than losing, talent.
