Lyon have agreed to sell goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to Tottenham Hotspur after the English side submitted a new bid for the shot-stopper.
According to French daily Le Parisien, Spurs have improved their initial offer for Lloris, placing a fresh bid of €16.5M on the table.
And this has proven to be enough for Les Gones to give the green light for the sale of the 25-year-old.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas hinted yesterday that he felt his club and Spurs were moving closer to an agreement and that the ball would ultimately be in Lloris’ court to decide on a switch to White Hart Lane.
Les Gones have been open to selling Lloris due to the need to cut costs and finance a new stadium, though his departure will not be popular with the club’s supporters or coach Remi Garde.
Tottenham meanwhile have chased a new goalkeeper all summer and at various points been linked with Maarten Stekelenburg and Julio Cesar, in addition to the France number 1.
