Chelsea winger Gael Kakuta has completed a loan move to Dutch side Vitesse and will ply his trade in the Eredivisie for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has three years left on his current contract with the Blues.

The move will be the French winger’s fourth loan spell away from Stamford Bridge, as the Frenchman has spent time at Fulham, Bolton as well as Dijon in the past two years.

Kakuta joined Chelsea in 2007 from Lens and has made 16 appearances for the club. The player was loaned to Fulham in January 2011 before joining Bolton on a loan deal in July the same year.

He returned to the Blues after a six-month loan spell at Bolton, but was then again loaned a year later to Dijon where he impressed crowds by scoring four goals in twelve appearances for the club in France’s Ligue 1.

The former Lens youth teamer will join two of his former Chelsea team-mates, Patrick van Aanholt and Tomas Kulas, who are also plying their trade at GelreDome on loan.

The 21-year-old will hope to shine during his spell at Vitesse in order to stake his claim in the Blues squad next summer.
