Arjen Robben believes Bayern Munich must fight in every Bundesliga game to ensure the title returns to the Allianz Arena at the end of the season, something they are desperate to accomplish.

The Bavarians, who have seen the last two German titles head to Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund, have started the season like a steam train, powering to four wins from their four games so far, scoring 14 goals and conceding only two.

relatedNewsStory Bayern Munich’s superb form has allowed them to already open up a gap over champions Dortmund, who themselves have won two, drawn one and lost one, of their four games. Robben’s men thus hold a five-point advantage over their rivals.

Jupp Heynckes’ side are already being hailed in some quarters as "champions in waiting" but Robben is not getting carried away with the talk, even if he knows Bayern Munich have started brilliantly.

"The title is very clearly our main goal", said the Dutchman "but that was the case before the league even started.

"That we’ve got a few points advantage over Dortmund now does not mean we’ll definitely be champions.

"No. We have to fight in every game."

Robben confirmed that the team are hugely enjoying their current form and it is only building their confidence still higher. However, he also stressed that the hunger for Bundesliga success has been present from the first minute of pre-season, with a desire to make up for two years without the famous shield driving the club on.

"I believe you can tell that we’re having fun on the pitch. And with every victory naturally our confidence rises.

"But I must say that from the first day of pre-season the squad have been hungry.

"We want to achieve something because we’ve gone two years without the title. That’s not a nice feeling. We want the title again, absolutely we do."
