Zlatan Ibrahimovic has hailed Sweden’s unforgettable comeback against Germany on Tuesday evening.

Away from home in a crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier, Sweden slipped to 4-0 down and looked all set to head home on the end of a heavy defeat.

"I do not know if I can explain it", said Ibrahimovic, reflecting on the comeback of all comebacks.

"After it was 4-0 to Germany with 35 minutes still to play, there are not many people who would have believed – but we did it.

"After the break it was a different eleven players who came out of the dressing room.

"We played in a totally different way.

"During the first half we were cowards, we showed Germany too much respect.

"But after the break, after the first goal, we became more confident."

And Ibrahimovic tried to explain, as best he could, the feeling which ran through the Sweden team when they left the pitch having secured a point.

"I don’t know how I can describe it. I can’t

"Everyone was in ecstasy, all the players were celebrating. The fans were fantastic."
