Schalke coach Huub Stevens admits he has not yet decided who to pick as his goalkeeper for tomorrow’s Revierderby against Borussia Dortmund.
Schalke face a tough task heading to the champions for a Bundesliga clash which may whittle down to one the number of sides which can compete with Bayern Munich for the title this season, given the runaway start the Bavarians have made.
relatedNewsStoryBut, despite the crucial nature of the fierce local derby, Stevens has not settled on his goalkeeper, with Timo Hildebrand, recently returned from injury, and Lars Unnerstall, who filled in, both under serious consideration.
"There are arguments for picking either player", acknowledged Stevens.
"Who is going to play? The fans will see on Saturday when the team is known", he added.
Schalke are unbeaten away from home in the league so far this season, but have won just one of their three trips on the road.
Last season Dortmund did the double over their rivals, winning 2-0 at home and 2-1 away, on their way to a second successive Bundesliga title.
At present however, Dortmund sit below Schalke in the standings, with Stevens’ men third, two points and one place better off than Jurgen Klopp’s side.
