Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema insists he is unconcerned about struggling to cement a starting spot at Los Blancos, pointing out that pressure is all part of life at the Bernabeu.
Benzema was left on the bench by Jose Mourinho for Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Celta Vigo at the weekend and he has scored just one goal in La Liga so far this season.
The pressure is now on the France international to start to find the back of the net and Mourinho may hand him a chance to do just that this week, when Real Madrid travel to Germany to face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
And should Benzema get the vote, he is sure he is ready to deal with it.
"Pressure has been part of my life since I was a Lyon, though it is more intense here because this is the best club in the world", Benzema told UEFA.com.
"I don’t take the pressure into the game with me, otherwise I would freeze and wouldn’t be able to play at all."

"I get rid of [pressure] by chatting with my little brother."
Benzema is involved in an almost continuous battle with Argentine Gonzalo Higuain for a starting role at Real Madrid.
He will hope to ram home his claim to a place if started against Dortmund.
