Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed the club are targeting two wins from their two home Europa League games.

Spurs currently sit third in Group J, behind Lazio, who top the section with five points from three games and Slovenian giants NK Maribor, who boast four points. Villas-Boas’ men have three, one ahead of bottom side Panathinaikos on two.

Villas-Boas watched his side play out a disappointing 1-1 draw away at Maribor two weeks ago, but now has the chance to extract revenge on Thursday when the Slovenians visit White Hart Lane – victory would move Spurs above the visitors.

It is the Maribor clash and a visit from Panathinaikos that the former FC Porto manager believes his side desperately need to win, with a game away at Lazio sandwiched in between the two fixtures.

"We have two home games. We have to do our job and win", he told his club’s official site.

"We hope to put in a good performance."

Villas-Boas is not taking victory over Maribor on Thursday for granted though, with thoughts of how well the Slovenians did away against Lazio; they lost 1-0 in Rome.

relatedNewsStory"We expect a good game", he said.

"They had a very competitive game against Lazio.

"They have a winning mentality."
