Karim Benzema has poured cold water on talk he could leave Real Madrid for Paris Saint-Germain, insisting that the French side still have much work to do before they can be placed on the same level as Los Blancos.
Speculation has swirled that Benzema could be a target for PSG, which would mark a remarkable return to his homeland after leaving Lyon to join Real Madrid in 2009.
But the 24-year-old is not thinking about taking that step just yet, especially with PSG representing a move down the ladder in his book.
"I’m a Real player and I do not want to leave", the striker told TF1.
"Paris invest in really good players, such as Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but these things take time.
"They must first win the championship and then reach the last eight of the Champions League in order to measure themselves against the big clubs."
The Frenchman also admitted that, with Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho giving Gonzalo Higuain his fair share of minutes on the pitch, he will receive less than last season, something he accepts.

"But I will not give up.
"I will continue to work to get more playing time and score more goals."
