Aston Villa defender Joe Bennett believes that the side’s 2-1 FA Cup victory over Ipswich may give them a boost for tomorrow night’s League Cup semi-final first leg against Bradford City.

Paul Lambert’s men visit Bradford for the first leg, taking to the pitch where Arsenal were put to the sword by the Bantams in the last round.

However, Villa will arrive in good heart according to Bennett, after coming from behind to beat Ipswich in the FA Cup at the weekend.

"All we were aiming for was to get through to the next round but we played some nice football and that is a bonus as well", he told his club’s official site.

"If we are playing good football now then hopefully it carries on into the next game and hopefully we can play well against Bradford."

And the 22-year-old insists determination is high for Aston Villa to go on a winning run in 2013.

"Every game home or away we want to win it whether it is in the Premier League or a cup game."

Villa are badly in need of clocking up a run of wins, given that they currently sit just one point above the Premier League relegation zone.

Their goal difference is also the worst of any in the top flight, with a total of minus 24.
