Wolfsburg have snapped up Croatia international Ivan Perisic from Borussia Dortmund.

The forward had given notice in November that he was frustrated with his situation at Borussia Dortmund, with the feeling that he should be starting more games for the Bundesliga champions, and a suggestion he could leave sooner rather than later.

Now that has proven to be the case and Perisic will hope to increase his playing time at the Volkswagen Arena.

Wolfsburg are thought to have paid around €8M to sign the 23-year-old, who has in turn penned a contract running until 2017 with the club.

Perisic has been handed the number 9 shirt at Wolfsburg and has flown to his new club’s winter training camp in Turkey.

He joined Dortmund in the summer of 2011 from Belgian giants Club Brugge.

Perisic helped Jurgen Klopp’s men to a Bundesliga and German Cup double last season.
