Brazilian giants Flamengo have agreed to loan defender Welinton to Russian side Alania Vladikavkaz for five months.

The Russian outfit will now assess Welinton and, if happy with his performances between now and the end of the season, complete a permanent deal for the defender.

The cost in that case for Alania Vladikavkaz will be €2.5M, which would net them 80% of the 23-year-old’s sporting rights.

Welinton has made 149 appearances for Flamengo since making his senior debut for the club in 2009.
