Stoke City have confirmed that midfielder Maurice Edu is joining Turkish side Bursaspor on loan until the end of the season.

Edu signed for the Potters during the summer transfer window, landing from Scottish Premier League side Rangers – but now the 26-year-old is on the move again.

An American international, Edu has featured just once for Stoke since he landed at the Britannia Stadium.

Now he is heading to Turkey for regular first team football at Super Lig outfit Bursaspor.

The Turkish side swooped for Edu to replace Alfred N’Diaye, who is on his way into the English Premier League after joining Sunderland.

Edu’s departure will now free up space for Stoke boss Tony Pulis to operate in the current transfer window.

Pulis has spoken about his desire to bring in fresh faces this month, but appeared to need to move players on first.
