QPR striker Djibril Cisse has disappointed Panathinaikos fans by explaining that he will not be returning to the club in this month’s transfer window.

Cisse has been linked with a return to Panathinaikos, the club he turned out for between 2009 and 2011, with prolific form in front of goal.

"To all my Panathinaikos fans, I’m sorry that I’m unable to come for the rest of the saison [sic], you all know that I love this team", Cisse wrote on his Twitter feed.
