QPR will have to battle a number of other clubs, some from Russia, for the signature of Yann M’Vila, the player’s president at current club Rennes has stated.

Manager Harry Redknapp has been confident of bringing M’Vila to Loftus Road to help in QPR’s battle against relegation from the Premier League.

However, while Rennes are believed to be happy with the deal on the table from QPR, the Rs’ interest has spurred other clubs into action.

Now there are other potential suitors in England, while there is also strong interest from Russia.

"We are in negotiations with QPR", said Rennes president Frederic Saint-Sernin to France 2.

"But since yesterday, other clubs have also made approaches.

"Other suitors come from the former Soviet Union and England too.

"We will resume discussions tomorrow [today, ed.]."

If QPR are able to sign M’Vila it would be a real coup, given the midfielder has been linked with some of the biggest clubs in the game over the last 18 months.

It does appear though that Redknapp will have to work overtime to win the race for the 22-year-old.
