Kaka has agreed to take a €4M per year wage cut to join AC Milan.

According to sources in Italy, the Brazilian schemer’s agents have indicated Kaka will drop his €10M per year salary to €6M per year, in order to help push through a switch from Real Madrid.

Kaka is keen to return to the club he left for Real Madrid in 2009, with first team chances limited under Jose Mourinho at the Bernabeu.

The 30-year-old’s salary at Real Madrid has been a major factor preventing his departure and this latest move further smooths the path to Milanello.

The midfielder is also hopeful that featuring regularly for Milan will help him secure a spot in Brazil’s 2014 World Cup squad.

For Milan, signing Kaka would be a big boost, especially with superstar names having departed the Rossoneri in the summer.

Milan lost both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain, in what was a painful double blow to the club’s fans.
