Jose Mourinho has denied fielding an offer from AC Milan.

Speculation has been swirling around in Italy that the Rossoneri would like Mourinho to take over next season, something which caused much concern at the club’s rivals Inter, who the Portuguese led to the Champions League in 2010 before leaving for Real Madrid.

However, Mourinho has insisted that he is not in possession of an offer from Milan.

And he has reassured the Inter fans that it is their club he holds in his heart.

"I live surrounded by rumours and if I answered them all, I would not have the time to do anything else", he told Rai Sport.

"It is only a rumour", he continued.

"The only thing that matters is that Inter fans know that I am an Interiste.

"I have not received any proposal from Milan."

Mourinho’s future at Real Madrid beyond the current season is in some doubt following a turbulent campaign in Spain.

Los Blancos are unlikely to retain their league title, with Barcelona all set to win La Liga, although they remain in the Copa del Rey and Champions League.
