Lewis Holtby will join Tottenham Hotspur this month after the English Premier League side reached an agreement with Bundesliga outfit Schalke for the Germany midfielder.

The schemer had already signed a pre-contractual agreement with Spurs to land at White Hart Lane in the summer, when his Schalke contract expires.

But the London side have been working hard to bring that deal forward to this month, in order to bolster manager Andre Villas-Boas’ squad.

Spurs have had bids rejected by Schalke, who stuck to a €2M valuation.

Now both sides have reached an agreement and Spurs have confirmed Holtby will move to White Hart Lane immediately.

The Germany international will now fulfil his dream of playing in the English Premier League.

Schalke will sign Brazilian star Michel Bastos from Lyon as his replacement, in a deal which is expected to be a six-month loan initially.
