Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart believes that Liverpool are now playing how their manager Brendan Rodgers wants them to play – and are reaping the benefits.

Liverpool enjoyed the better of the game when they met Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in Premier League action yesterday. The match finished as a 2-2 draw, but Liverpool did register 21 shots on goal to Manchester City’s nine.

While Hart feels that the draw was a fair result, something he knows the Reds will not agree with, he was full of praise for Liverpool, a side he thinks are starting to show the type of football Rodgers, appointed last summer, wants them to play.

"It was a tough game, Liverpool played really well", the goalkeeper told his club’s official site.

"I imagine they will argue we were lucky to get a result in the end", he continued.

"I think a draw was a fair result."

Liverpool now move on to 36 points from 25 games in the Premier League, nine points off the all-important fourth place.

Manchester City meanwhile slip to nine points behind rivals Manchester United, leaving their hopes of retaining the Premier League title they won last year hanging by a thread.
