Lazio have received a blow with the news that striker Miroslav Klose is likely to be sidelined for two months.

The veteran Germany hitman is suffering with a knee injury and is looking at a prolonged spell out of action.

Klose has scored ten goals in 20 Serie A games so far this season and the Rome giants will surely miss him.

Vladimir Petkovic’s men currently sit third in Serie A, three points ahead of fourth-placed AC Milan.

Winning the title looks difficult for Lazio and Petkovic’s main aim will be to secure Champions League football for the club for next season by finishing in the top three.

Lazio will have to make do without Klose for a while though.

Petkovic’s men lost 3-2 at Genoa at the weekend, while they host Napoli next weekend.
