Veteran French striker Louis Saha has declared his delight at joining Serie A side Lazio, stating he will "give everything" for the Rome giants.

Saha has been snapped up as a replacement for Germany star Miroslav Klose, who has been sidelined through injury and is expected to come back into coach Vladimir Petkovic’s side when fit, something the Frenchman understands and accepts.

And, following his departure from Sunderland last month, he is just happy to be in Italy.

"I will give everything for this club", Saha told the press at his unveiling at Lazio’s Formello training complex.

"I am here to help the club because a striker is injured and I am happy with that role", he added.

The former Manchester United man then turned his thoughts towards Lazio’s weekend fixture against Napoli, a fixture which pits second against third, promising to do his all in the clash if called upon.

Saha also stated that his hunger has not died. "I am very competitive", he said.

For the 34-year-old, it will be his first taste of football outside his native France and England, where he has spent the entirety of his career so far.
