QPR boss Harry Redknapp has explained that striker Loic Remy may be available for tomorrow’s Premier League clash against Swansea City.

Remy missed QPR’s 0-0 draw against Norwich City last weekend after picking up a groin injury and the Rs desperately need the speedy French striker to be available for selection once again.

And Redknapp has revealed that the 26-year-old is not far off being fit, with an appearance tomorrow possible. However, the former Tottenham Hotspur boss is determined not to rush Remy, for fear of him breaking down.

"He is close to being fit for Saturday", Redknapp told a QPR fans’ forum, via his club’s feed.

"He trained this morning. He did some work with the fitness coaches. There is a chance he could be available for Saturday, he’s very close.

"But I don’t want to rush him on Saturday in case he breaks down, he’s not 100 per cent right and then we lose him for a few weeks.

"It’s touch and go; he could be fit for Saturday."

Snapping up Remy from Marseille last month was a major coup for QPR and the France international is being backed to score the goals to keep the club in the Premier League.

Remy scored on his debut for QPR against West Ham last month and has appeared in good form.
