Hundreds of Feyenoord supporters flocked to the club’s training session today to catch a glimpse of John Guidetti.

The Manchester City striker spent last season on loan at the Rotterdam giants, scoring a superb 20 goals in 23 Eredivisie matches, before his campaign was derailed by injury.

Guidetti remains a popular figure at De Kuip and Feyenoord fans were desperate for the club to secure him on a permanent deal from Manchester City.

Feyenoord supporters even started a petition to keep Guidetti at the club, which attracted thousands of signatures.

It was to no avail though and the Sweden international headed back to the Citizens.

Now though he has returned to see his former team-mates, an event which has caused Feyenoord fans to show their support for him.

Feyenoord have managed to replace Guidetti’s goals, unearthing another prolific striker in the form of Graziano Pelle.
