Barcelona sent scouts to watch Toulouse defender Aymen Abdennour in action at the weekend against Rennes, according to Mercato 365.

The Tunisia international clocked up the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 defeat in Ligue 1, as Toulouse slipped down to 12th in the standings.

Abdennour is a player in demand, with Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal having kept a close eye on the 23-year-old, and scouts from the Gunners travelled to France to watch the defender as recently as the end of November.

Barcelona are also long-time suitors and the club’s talent spotters are regularly filing reports on Abdennour.

Toulouse have done what they can to secure the defender against predators however.
