Zinedine Zidane is set to take further steps into the world of coaching by being appointed to head one of Real Madrid’s three under-18 teams.

The former France star has served as the sporting director at his old club, but wants to move into the dugout, having taken his coaching qualifications and even stated his desire to one day coach Les Bleus.

And now Real Madrid will let Zidane dip his toes into the coaching pool.

Zidane may succeed Fernando Morientes, who is wanted by the Spanish Football Federation, and head up the B team under-18 section.

He may even then have the opportunity to coach one of his sons, Enzo and Luca, at Real Madrid.
