Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes expects to have Javi Martinez at his disposal when his side meet Arsenal in the Champions League tomorrow.

The Bavarians travel to the Emirates Stadium for the first leg of their Round of 16 clash with taking an advantage back to Germany on their minds.

Martinez has been an injury doubt, but Heynckes has good news on the Spaniard, who missed Friday’s Bundesliga victory over Wolfsburg.

"This has been good to see", Heynckes told his club’s official site after watching Martinez in training.

"As it stands now, he can play again.

"This is good news for all Bayern Munich fans."

It remains to be seen if Heynckes will throw Martinez into the clash against Arsenal however, with the German cautioning that the midfielder does need to be treated with some care.

However, his return to fitness gives Heynckes the option of playing the former Athletic Bilbao star against the Gunners, as the Champions League gets serious.
