Sir Alex Ferguson insists he does not have to bring in a number of youngsters when he wants to rotate his squad anymore, as he has a whole host of quality options.

Ferguson is expected to ring the changes for Manchester United in this evening’s FA Cup clash against Reading at Old Trafford, but the veteran manager is confident that the quality of his side will not drop because of it.

"There was a time when I would bring in our young players to freshen things up and rest key people, but I don’t have to do that nowadays because we have a bigger squad of quality players, some of whom are in need of games", Ferguson explained to his club’s official site.

"They are the ones I will be looking to this evening."

Ferguson has previously spoken of his desire to end Manchester United’s FA Cup trophy drought, with the last time the club won the famous cup coming in 2004.
