Jose Mourinho may only have been named to the Chelsea dugout for a few hours, but potential arrivals from his former clubs are already being mooted with Galatasaray’s Wesley Sneijder on the radar, according to Turkish TV channel NTVSpor.

Sneijder had joined Inter Milan in 2009 under Mourinho’s reign, and went on to make 116 appearances before a January transfer to Galatasary this year.

His contract with the Super Lig side runs until 2016, but a return to playing under Mourinho at Chelsea, who announced their latest managerial appointment yesterday, could tempt the Holland international.

Sneijder has only managed 16 games for his Turkish employers, scoring four goals, whilst he has faced old team-mates when Galatasaray played Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Sneijder, who left Real Madrid for Inter in 2009, even managed to score a goal at the Turk Telekom Arena against Mourinho’s men, during a 3-2 win in the group stage.

The end of his stay at the San Siro was clouded in controversy over his refusal to sign a new deal that would have seen his wages cut.

The 28-year-old has totalled 91 caps for his national side, scoring 24 goals, since making his debut in 2003.
