Stuttgart have completed the signing of Mohammed Abdellaoue on a four-year deal from rivals Hannover, according to the Bundesliga’s official website.

Abdellaoue’s transfer had been an open secret for a long time, with Hannover’s president even vowing to "contribute" to his move.

The 27-year-old leaves Hannover after three seasons where he made 103 appearances in all competitions, scoring 35 goals.

The fee for his transfer remains undisclosed, but he will link up with his new team-mates in early July.

The Norwegian told the league’s website: "I’m happy to be at Stuttgart. I have been very pleased with the offer and wanted to come here.

"VfB are a great club with many good players and a great tradition. For me, the change is here a great step forward and I am looking forward to the coming years."

Abdellaoue’s performances, both with Valerenga in his native Norway and with Hannover, have not gone unnoticed as Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund were preparing for a swoop as recently as March.

However, Stuttgart can rest easy with their new signing and sporting director Fredi Bobic said: "He is an internationally experienced player with exceptional skills. With him we can act more flexibly in our attacking range."
