Barcelona playmaker Cesc Fabregas has insisted that he is happy at the Catalan club, and has labelled the transfer speculation surrounding him “absurd”.

The former Arsenal star schemer has been speculated to return to the English Premier League this summer, and the Gunners as well as 20-time English league champions Manchester United, have been listed as suitors.

However, the Spaniard has dismissed all the speculation and explained that whoever is saying that he is on his way out of Barcelona has not spoken with him.

"I’ve always said that I’m happy at Barca. Whoever says that I’m leaving doesn’t know me and has never spoken with me", Fabregas was quoted as saying by the BBC.

He clocked up 48 appearances for the Spanish giants in the 2012/13 season, scoring 14 times and assisting 15 times.
