New Chelsea signing Andre Schurrle is looking forward to working under Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge, having dubbed the Portuguese "cool" and explained he has "a special personality".

The Europa League winners have splurged a fee of €23m to sign Schurrle from Bayer Leverkusen, while the player himself is pocketing a yearly salary of €4.8m as part of his five-year contract.

And Mourinho was keen to welcome Schurrle as soon as he saw him – at Michael Ballack’s farewell match.

The former Real Madrid coach made quite an impression on the Germany forward, who is now relishing the chance to pull on a blue shirt for next season.
