Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas remains confident he can thwart any interest in his star player Gareth Bale, insisting that the Welshman will not be going anywhere.
Bale, 23, was phenomenal for Spurs last season, where he came in as the Premier League’s third top goalscorer, notching a total 21 goals, just behind Liverpool’s Luis Suarez (23 goals) and Manchester United’s Robin van Persie (26 goals).
Such form, along with his blistering pace, has placed the enigmatic Welshman in the centre of Real Madrid’s crosshairs, with Los Blancos supremo Florentino Perez himself declaring admiration for Bale.
But amid the intensifying speculation surrounding Bale’s future at White Hart Lane, Villas-Boas has come out and rubbished any possibility of losing his main man, telling Spanish daily Marca, "Bale is not leaving [Tottenham]."

The Portuguese tactician’s confidence stems from the words of club chairman Daniel Levy, who affirmed his intent to tie down Bale at White Hart Lane.
"I have the chairman’s commitment that Bale will not leave the club", Villas-Boas continued.
Bale, who joined Spurs from fellow Premier League side Southampton in the summer of 2007, has a contract with the London giants until 2016.
