Real Madrid youngster Alvaro Morata has expressed his gratitude toward club supremo Florentino Perez, adding that the support he has received from him and the club as a whole made him feel "valued".
Morata won the Golden Boot by scoring four goals in the recently-concluded UEFA European Under-21 Championship, which Spain won by defeating Italy 4-2 in the final thanks to a hat-trick from Barcelona’s Thiago Alcantara and a coup-de-grace from Malaga’s Isco.
"[President Florentino Perez] congratulated me and he said that I should try to relax and enjoy myself", Morata told the club’s official site.
"He was relying on me for this year. I thanked him, as well as [Real Madrid legends Miguel] Pardeza and [Emilio] Butragueño, who sent me messages and kept an eye on my scoring from match to match as well as after winning and I would like to thank them because that makes you feel valued”, the young goalscorer added.

The Golden Boot marks the second individual honour Morata has received during his career, having already won the same award in 2011 during the European Under-19 Championship.
Morata made a total of 12 league appearances for Real Madrid’s senior team last season, scoring two goals along the way.
