English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have announced that they will be playing a pre-season friendly against newly promoted French side Monaco.

The match will take place at the Stade Louis II in Monaco on 3rd August.

The principality outfit will play in the French top flight in the upcoming season, after clinching promotion last season. The French giants – seven-time Ligue 1 champions – finished at the top of Ligue 2 last season, leading second-placed Guingamp by seven points.

Claudio Ranieri’s side have spent big this summer with the acquisition of top players, which includes the likes of Colombian hotshot Radamel Falcao, as well as Portuguese schemer Joao Moutinho.

Meanwhile, Spurs, managed by Portuguese tactician Andre Villas-Boas, start their English Premier League campaign against newly promoted Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on 17th August.
