Andrei Arshavin has rejoined Zenit St. Petersburg in a two-year deal after his contract at Arsenal expired.
The 32-year-old had a loan spell with the Russian club last season after being frozen out of first team action by Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger.
Arshavin joined Arsenal from Zenit in 2009 for £15m and scored 31 times for the London club, but played only 80 minutes of their Premier League campaign last season.
Both Zenit and Arshavin were delighted with the move.

"One of the best footballers in Russia of the last decade is returning to his home city", Zenit said in a statement.
Arshavin told the club’s official site after agreeing a two-year deal, “I am very glad that it happened. I am glad to get back to the city. It’s good to wear the Zenit shirt. I just want to play football.”
During his previous nine-year stint with the club, Arshavin had a lot of success, with the highlight winning the UEFA Cup, now rechristened as the UEFA Europa League, against Rangers in 2008.
The forward will officially join Zenit on 1st July, as the club look to regain the Russian Premier League title after losing it to CSKA Moscow last season.
